week #2 - fascia facts friday 💌

suburbanhippie.life

a weekly series to learn a bit about the body + a subtle shift to start to apply the new knowledge

where is fascia located in my body?

fascia is located in every nook in your body. from toes to nose, from skin to bone and everywhere in between.

there’s literally no place in your body that doesn’t have fascia…it’s even in your head + brain.

think of fascia as the home inside of you for all other muscles, organs, fluids, nerves, arteries, etc. to live.

just like a home has different rooms connected for different things, our fascia creates ‘rooms’ to help organize the different systems in our body.

your fascia home helps to both organize + connect everything inside your body.

2 minute subtle shift...

do 2 slow gentle head rolls and notice how good it feels in your neck.

do 3 more just as slow and notice how other parts of your body start to feel good too…even though they’re not technically moving.

that’s the beauty of fascia being everywhere, the benefits + sensations are traveling through the connected fascia.

see you next week, Brooke ✌🏻

if you wanna experience more of the connective-ness of fascia you might try an express myofascial release offered by yours truly 🥰

9/10 people are breathing in micro tensions I don’t have actual stats but I believe borrowing movement to breathe is more common than breathing how we are designed to [ai says 9/10 people aren’t breathing ideally 🙃] when it comes to borrowing for breath there are some specific areas of the body that we tend to use. that’s the chest neck shoulders belly upper ribs the more we rely on these muscles to help us breath, the more micro tensions we’re putting into our system. that’s because we’re...

breath, our event core.dinator our breathing is more than getting air in to live - its a pressure management system every activity we do and every move we make we are putting force on the body in some way. even when we are sitting still, the body is having to adjust for the pressures of gravity in some way. our muscles, bones and fascia are built to take the force but the breath is the one determining which muscles and bones take the load. imagine the breath being an event coordinator you...
